Ban Live Export Adelaide Rally

The Adelaide rally to ban live animal exports received an impressive turn out.

For those that couldn’t make it, you can view the speeches from Greens MP Ms Tammy Franks, Independent Senator Mr Nick Xenophon and RSPCA (SA) CEO Mr Simon Richards below. All three speakers impressed the need to keep up the pressure on your local Federal MP, but also backbenchers. Interestingly, Ms Tammy Franks explained that an old fashioned letter via snail mail has a greater effect than an email; although an email is better than nothing.

Dog & Cat Management Act Reform Association

Are you passionate about improving the welfare of animals in our community?

If so you may be interested in joining a new South Australia association that aims to do just that!

According to a recent press report, the South Australian government will release a bill amending the Dog and Cat Management Act early next month. The bill will give effect to proposals by the Dog and Cat Management Board that aim to prevent cats wandering beyond their owners property, compulsory microchipping of cats, registration of all cats, and the employment of cat management officials for compliance activities.
