Ban Live Export Rally in Adelaide
Thousands turned out on a gorgeous Adelaide afternoon to ban live export. I was truly touched by the sheer number of people who came to voice their opposition to the trade, on behalf of those without a voice.
Unfortunately, I didn’t record all the speeches like I did last time. We were too far back…and my arms were a little sore after the last one. However, I did take a panoramic shot so you can get a sense of crowd numbers. It was truly impressive!
Surely the Gillard Government can’t ignore such a strong show of public support for the ending of the live animal export trade.
Ban Live Animal Export Rally in Adelaide
The Adelaide rally to ban live animal exports received an impressive turn out.
For those that couldn’t make it, you can view the speeches from Greens MP Ms Tammy Franks, Independent Senator Mr Nick Xenophon and RSPCA (SA) CEO Mr Simon Richards below. All three speakers impressed the need to keep up the pressure on your local Federal MP, but also backbenchers. Interestingly, Ms Tammy Franks explained that an old fashioned letter via snail mail has a greater effect than an email; although an email is better than nothing.
